Bilingual Worship Service

Normally our local congregation holds an English service at 9am followed by a Swahili service at 11, but this past Sunday there was a single special service for everyone featuring music by the choirs.  Some of the liturgy, readings, and music was in Swahili and some was in English.  As a student of the language, I appreciate the Swahili liturgy and hymnody because there is a lot of repetition and the texts are familiar, so I’m often able to make educated guesses and fill in the gaps where I don’t understand.
