Good Music

Yesterday afternoon we had the pleasure of hearing the Nairobi orchestra in concert, the first time I’ve listened to live strings since arriving in Africa.  We saw two familiar faces on stage, as our kids’ music teacher Corrine plays percussion and our friend Jenn plays violin in the orchestra.  The afternoon’s lineup was Sibelius’ 2nd Symphony, two shorter pieces featuring solo violin, and a suite of John Williams’ themes from the first six Star Wars movies.  It was a treat, and I’m happy that the fine arts are being passed on to the next generation here in Kenya.
