From the time I accepted the call from the Office of International Mission almost two and half years ago, I’ve known that one of the components of my job description has been to achieve level 3 fluency in Swahili. I took my comprehensive language exam at the end of May and just received the results this past week: a solid level 3!
Of course I’m still not content with my proficiency, and I’ll never stop studying it and using it, but it’s a good feeling to know that I’ve passed a milestone. I’ve accomplished what I initially set out to do.
Pictured above is the first section of my test results, the digital equivalent of my report card hung on the refrigerator door!
